Karen Cowan, MSW, LCAS-A
Karen attended AB Tech and obtained an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Technology and then went to Mars Hill College to finish up a bachelor’s degree where she double majored in Criminal Justice and Social Work. Afterward, she attended UNC-Chapel Hill to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work.
Karen has worked in the County Manager’s Office, Baby Love Program doing Maternal and Child Outreach, and also, as a Clinical Case Manager at Blue Ridge Mental Health. She started an agency on January 2, 2000, and later renamed the agency Brandi Nichole Family Enrichment Center in 2009 in honor of her daughter.
Karen is very involved in the community with various organizations and she was previously a foster parent for 14 years.

Jewel Richardson, BA
Jewel Richardson is from the US Virgin Islands. She graduated from Mars Hill College with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology. She is currently the Agency Director at Brandi Nichole Family Enrichment Center. Her passion is reuniting children with their families or finding their forever homes.

Diana Glover, MSW
Interlude Respite Facility
Diana is an Asheville, NC native. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Brescia University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Diana was also a member of the Armed Forces (Army) and is a two-time deployed Veteran. She has worked previously in Assisted Family Living and dedicated herself to volunteer work where she was always helping people. She is now the Program Director at Interlude Respite Facility.

Charles Blount, BA
Foster Care Specialist
Charles was born and raised in the South Bronx of New York City. He graduated from Virginia Intermont College in 1997 and has worked as a qualified mental health professional for over 20 years in Western North Carolina in several different programs. Charles is passionate about working with foster parents and recently joined the Brandi Nichole Family Enrichment Center.

Tammy was born and raised in Titusville, FL near the Kennedy Space Center. She holds a degree in Medical Coding and Insurance Reimbursement and has an Administrative and Management background. She and her husband Kris enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking.
Tammy has 4 children – Ashley who is currently living the RV life traveling across the US, Tyler who is an engineering student at Texas A&M University, Jacob is about to graduate high school and has been accepted to Clemson University, and Rylee is 10 years old and in the 5th grade. She also has 2 stepsons – Bryson is 12 years old and Brantley is 8 years old. She feels so excited and blessed to have joined the Brandi Nichole team and to be contributing to helping build strong families!

Agency Development Manager
Yelinska Alicea was born and raised in Puerto Rico where she graduated Valedictorian of her high school class and then started her studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez. She later transferred to the University of Houston to study in their Biotechnology program.
In her professional career, Yelinska has mostly been in Retail Management where she has contributed to creating programs to enhance the customer experience and employee retention. Moreover, she enjoys working with people and helping them in their professional and personal development.

Lori McAdams, RN
Lori McAdams is Americare Pharmacy’s Nurse Consultant for Brandi Nichole Family Enrichment Center. Lori provides medication training to our foster parents and has worked with the Brandi Nicole Family Enrichment Center since 2007. She began her nursing career as an LPN working in long-term care and returned to school in 2004 to become a Registered Nurse. Lori lives in Fletcher with her husband and 6 dogs.
